Jefferson County Public School students are participating in the Kentucky Department of Education’s required field tests and Quality of School Climate and Safety survey from February 24th through March 6th to .
The primary purpose of the field test is to examine the quality of the test questions for new academic standards. At the same time, schools will see how the technology works and the students will experience the new testing platform. This field test will not be part of accountability and no student or school results will be shared.
Students will also complete the Quality of School Climate and Safety Survey right before completing the field test. The results of this survey will count as four percent of our school’s accountability score for the 2019-2020 school year. Each student will answer the survey and only complete one field test in either reading, mathematics or writing. The entire process should take no more than 60 to 90 minutes depending upon the field test assigned to the student.
Schools have the opportunity to help students become familiar with the testing platform through an online tutorial and short practice tests. Accommodations will be provided to those students with Individual Education Plans, 504 Plans or Program Services Plans.
