Update: The Red Envelope Project is going strong! There is still time to participate! You can find them on the bulletin boards at the front of the school!
What is the Red Envelope Project?
In Chinese culture, Red Envelopes have great meaning. During Lunar New Year, when children receive red envelopes with money in them from their elders, it is considered a wish for good luck or good fortune.
How does a Red Envelope Fundraiser work?
We’re so glad you asked!
There are 150 envelopes. Each envelope is numbered with a number 1-150.
You choose an envelope, and you donate that amount of money. It’s that simple.
If you select envelope #5, you donate $5. If you choose envelope #150, you donate $150. You get the idea, right? What happens if you really want to donate $100, but someone else already took that envelope? Well, choose two envelopes: like #49 and #51. Again, it’s very simple.
Only have $8 to give? Your son wants to give the only $1 he has? Perfect! We need people to take the $1 and $8 envelopes to reach our goal! We are grateful for every dollar given- because every dollar brings us that much closer to our goal!
If all 150 envelopes are chosen, we will raise over $11,000! We can do it! We have to do it!
